Rules Pertaining to the Hall of Fame
APPLICATION PROCESS
- A nomination form will appear in the Dutch Reporter at least once a year. This nomination application will also be available on the Dutch Website and through the ADRC secretary.
- The signatures of at least ten ADRC members in good standing must accompany the nomination.
- A brief biography of the nominee must be included with the nomination application (The Hall of Fame committee and/or the Board of Directors of ADRC, reserve the right to request more biographical information on the
nominee as deemed necessary.
- Nominee must have been a continuous adult member in good standing with ADRC for at least ten years.
- A Hall of Fame nominee can be of any age or sex as long as the nominee has met the membership requirements for nomination.
- The completed nomination form is to be returned to ADRC secretary for verification.
- The verified nomination form will then be forwarded to the Hall Of Fame committee chairperson and committee members for recommendation.
VOTING PROCEDURE
- The Hall of Fame committee will vote to recommend inductees to the Board of Directors of the ADRC. A 2/3 majority rule will be used in the recommendation
process.
- A current committee member or board member is not eligible to cast a vote if the nominee is him/herself.
- The number of years of continuous adult membership service to the ADRC,
showmanship record, promotion of the Dutch Rabbit and The American Dutch
Rabbit Club are considerations in the voting.
- The Board of Directors may reject any nominee they feel does not meet the
criteria to be inducted and must vote to accept or reject the nomination using a 2/3 majority rule.
- All nominations not voted on favorably may be resubmitted annually for re-condsideration.
- At least two inductions are preferred each year, but there will be no limit on the number of inductions to be awarded including those inductions awarded posthumously.
- Timeline:
- All nomination applications must be received by the secretary of the ADRC no later than December 1st of each year to be considered for induction the following spring at the National Dutch Show.
- January 15th the secretary shall forward all recommendations to the Hall of Fame committee chairperson and committee members for consideration.
- February 1st, recommendations and any concerns for the HOF committee are to be submitted to the ADRC President and Secretary. This will be forwarded the Board of Directors for discussion and vote.
- March 1st, the secretary will inform the Board of Directors and the HOF committee chairperson of the voting results and will make arrangements for the awards to be ordered.
- The candidates selected to be inducted into the Hall of Fame will be presented the award at the National Dutch show banquet.
INDUCTION
- Members honored for induction shall have the induction honor presented to them at the National Dutch Show banquet.
- Induction honoree shall also receive a Lifetime Membership to the ADRC if the inductee has not already achieved that status.
- Inductees’ names shall forever be added to the list of Hall of Fame members published in the Dutch Reporter each year.
- Inductees names shall forever appear in ADRC Guide Book under: “Hall of Fame Members” each time a Guide Book is published.
