The 2010s
The 2010s brought continued growth, recognition, and youth development within the ADRC. The decade saw the creation of the Hall of Greatness, continued Hall of Fame inductions, expanded youth scholarship and travel grant opportunities, and the formation of committees focused on ethics, distinguished service recognition, and educational Dutch rabbit videos. Discussions also continued regarding judge rotations at major shows, while the Seller’s Class was eventually restructured into the Dutch Auction.
Variety development remained a major focus throughout the decade. Chinchilla Dutch successfully passed both ADRC and ARBA approval to become a recognized variety, while Lilac and Gold Dutch continued through the COD and presentation process with support from ADRC membership. The decade also included notable convention wins by youth exhibitors, concerns surrounding the spread of Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease in the Pacific Northwest, and continued dedication to preserving and advancing the Dutch breed and fancy.
