The 2020s
The 2020s brought unprecedented challenges and rapid change to the rabbit fancy as COVID-19 and the spread of RHDV2 led to canceled shows, including the 2020 National Dutch Show and ARBA Convention, financial strain within the ADRC, and declining participation during the pandemic. At the same time, the decade accelerated modernization through virtual royalty competitions, virtual shows, online voting, digital Dutch Reporters, online memberships and sanctions, podcasts, and Zoom meetings, while youth support expanded through scholarships, travel grants, and mentorship programs. Variety development also continued, with Golden Yellow Dutch becoming an officially recognized ARBA variety and Lilac Dutch receiving ADRC membership approval following ARBA rule changes. The decade additionally saw continued recognition of influential members through Distinguished Service Awards, Hall of Fame inductions, travel grants, scholarship awards, and major convention achievements, including Lily Hamilton winning Best Group at the 2025 ARBA Convention.
