The National Dutch Show is held at the end of April each year. It is an opportunity for the Dutch breeders across the county to show their top rabbits. Entries will be due about two weeks prior to the show. The rabbits will be in coops.
The Youth Contests are usually held on Friday afternoon, along with a meeting and any fun classes that might be offered, and fur classes. The host club also offers a light meal for the members.
Saturday is show day, youth and open running concurrently. After the showing is finished, there will be a rabbit auction and banquet.
Sunday the rabbits will be released.
A lot of help from the membership will be needed to help the show run smoothly:
Ramrods behind the judge’s table to help
Writers to write the placings and comments from the judge
Loading rabbits into carriers to take to the judging area
Runners to return the rabbits to their coop
For more information, there are two articles below: “Preparing for Your First National Dutch Show” and “Preparation for the National Dutch Show”.
